Foreign volunteers in high demand for mentoring


Foreign tourism is booming in Vietnam, but some overseas visitors are doing far more than dining out and enjoying the sights.

Some families living in rural areas of the country are unable to pay their children’s school fees, so volunteers from overseas are helping them out in a big way by teaching and mentoring local kids.

Kai Hayes has that story.

Kai Hayes is entering his third year at the University of Queensland, studying a dual degree in a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Business Management. He currently works as a Social Media Producer in the Nine Network’s Brisbane newsroom and has a keen interest in politics, aviation and music.
